Downloading and Installing themes via ZIP or OTA’s
ZIP Files:
How do I use a zip file to add the theme to my phone?
1. First thing is to make sure you are downloading the correct device (Model Number) and OS (Operating System) version of the theme for your Blackberry!
(To find your OS go to Options>About. It will be the 3rd line will start with 4.x.x.xxx)
2. If you got the theme from a zipped file, you need to use the DM (Desktop Manager) to load it to your Blackberry, make a new folder on your computer and name it the theme name unzip the file into there (Once unzipped, there should be a .alx and a .cod)
3. Open the DM, plug your phone into your computer via USB
4. Go to applications or application loader (depending on the version of the DM you have), add/remove applications, click start it will go through a search process, click on browse and locate the folder you unzipped the theme to. Next click on the .alx file and wait for it to upload to your Blackberry (DO NOT disconnect your Blackberry until it's done. After download is done your bb may reboot itself.)
5. Now check your themes on your Blackberry to see if the theme is there by going to Options>Theme, if not manually reboot your phone by turning off and then back on, look again and the theme should be in your theme section on your Blackberry. (If it's still not there, do a battery pull)
If you get an error of "No applications were found for your device" First make sure theme is for your OS, Second make sure you've download your phone's OS to your computer this way the DM picks up your phone. You can get this either by going to your providers website or blackberry.com Also uninstall any previous OS you may have installed on your computer by going to add/remove programs
